With extensive experience from New Zealand to the UK and finally Australia, Darcy’s creative ethos that beauty is everywhere and in everything, means that client’s always love the beautiful hairstyles he creates for them and their time in his chair.
Born in the small town of Feilding New Zealand, Darcy grew up in a loving and supportive family who encouraged his decision to go into the world of hairdressing and leave behind his promising future all black career. 😜
Darcy’s passion for beautiful hair was ignited during his apprenticeship and upon completion, he excitedly boarded a flight for London for what he thought would be a two year travelling holiday.
Commencing as a junior stylist in an up-market, high-end chain of salons he was originally based at Trafalgar square. Here his passion was further ignited as he worked alongside some of the most inspiring and talented hairdressers from around the world, enthusiastically soaking up as much knowledge and techniques as he could. Immersing himself in further professional development and education, Darcy quickly progressed to Creative Director and Head of Education. For the next 6 year’s he travelled across the UK & Europe, delivering courses and seminars & participating in photo shoots.
8 years later, Darcy decided to visit the sunny shores of Australia home which has been his home for 20 years now. From owning his own salon in Bondi Junction to having a loyal following in Double Bay, Darcy’s easy going nature is wonderful to be around and client’s love being in his chair.
Darcy see’s the beauty in everything and believes that there is no set idea on beauty. Everyone is beautiful and deserves beautiful hair.
He is inspired by everyday people that cross his path. “If you take the time to get to know people everyone has a story – a life lesson to be learnt.”
